Extra Creamy Almond Milk

Stop buying almond milk that’s mostly water, gums, oils and additives.

Many store-bought almond milks contain as little as 3–4% almonds and are often packed with highly processed vegetable oils, gums, emulsifiers and other gut-irritating additives. Making your own almond milk at home is surprisingly simple and all you need is a few ingredients for a creamy, dairy-free alternative.

Ingredients

  • 1 - 1 1/2 cups of almonds (depending on how creamy you like it)

  • 4 cups of filtered water

  • 1-2 dates (optional)

  • ½ tsp vanilla bean powder or extract (optional)

  • Pinch of salt

Directions
1. Soak the almonds overnight, then drain and rinse (optional).
2. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend for 1-2mins.
3. Pour almond milk into the cloth or nut milk bag.
4. Firmly squeeze out the fluid until the bag is dry, leaving the almond fibres in the cloth.
5. Pour the almond milk into a glass bottle and store in the refrigerator.
