Chocolate Smoothie Bowl

This smoothie bowl blends creamy banana, antioxidant rich berries and mineral rich greens for a wholesome and satisfying start to the day, plus it’s a delicious excuse to enjoy chocolate for breakfast.

Ingredients:
1 frozen banana (I used a frozen green banana for the benefits of resistant starch)
½ cup of blueberries
1 handful of spinach
2 Tbsp nut butter
1 Tbsp. cacao powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
½ cup of almond milk
Stevia to taste or fresh a pitted date

Toppings: Chopped nuts, shredded coconut, blueberries, strawberries, chia seeds

Directions:
1. Place all the ingredient s of the smoothie bowl into a high speed blender and blend well.
2. Place chocolate mixture into a bowl and top with your desired toppings.

The addition of nuts helps to keep you feeling full and satisfied, supporting steady appetite control through to lunchtime.

This smoothie bowl also makes a delicious snack and can be split into two smaller portions if you prefer something lighter. You can also add an additive free protein powder to bump up the protein content.

This reminds me of a chocolate Yogo, my favourite not so healthy chocolate dessert when I was a kid, so a big yum yum from me.
